Pianist

Born in Ukraine, Natalia Tkachenko studied piano at the Moscow State Institute of Music named after Ippolitov-Ivanov, where she trained with Rena Shereshevskaya and Alexander Belomestnov.

She has performed extensively as a concert pianist and accompanist, working with the National Theatre Institute and the Youth Opera Theatre, and appearing in South Korea, Russia, France, and Germany.

After relocating to Australia in 2004, Natalia was an accompanist at the ANU School of Music and collaborated with distinguished musicians including David Pereira, Sarah Louise Owens, Damian Whiteley, Tobias Cole, the Canberra Chorale Society, and pianist Elena Nikulina. Her performances have included festival appearances and radio recordings for ArtFM.

Alongside her performing career, she established a respected private piano studio and was recognised among the Top 5 Private Teachers in New South Wales for several consecutive years.

Recent (5-6 year) History

In 2020, she moved to the United States, where she performed regularly as a concert pianist in the greater Washington, D.C. area, alongside her work as a teacher and adjudicator. In 2023, she moved to Pyeonteak, South Korea where she volunteered at a local church, and the Humphreys United Club, while maintaining online courses for her students. In 2025, Natalia returned to Australia, where she continues her performance career as a collaborative, concert pianist, and full-time teacher.

Her students regularly participate in recitals, festivals, and competitions.
